“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us” Emerson
A few months ago I was lucky enough to witness the birth of little Peach. Her mum is one of my most favourite people to roam this earth. She is like a sister and best friend all rolled into one. I was also privileged to be the midwife for her first birth and support and photographer at her second birth. This time around they had moved away and she was attending a small birth centre in Northern NSW, so I got to be birth support and photographer again. Yes, I know how much of a privilege this is, to witness and support her through all of her births. However, the support was returned tenfold when I birthed Ziggy at home, Em was there as support and chief photographer :) I love these images of Peach’s entrance to the world. They show strength, power and the normality of birth. They show daddy waking the older two girls to get ready to leave, they show Em birthing her baby shortly after arriving at the birth centre, they show big sisters watching their amazing mummy birth their baby sister and the last image is them as a family of five under the street light, leaving hours after giving birth. Life is beautiful. Especially because these people are in it. Em, you rock xx (shared with permission).
